Project: Bedtime

iBook closing with zzz on screen

You may think from the title, that this post could be filled with advice for getting kiddo's to bed, or the importance of routine, etc...nope. This is all about me:)

I tend to get most of my inspiration in the evening. Once I get my yogini into bed (no easy task with my mini-non-sleeper), I often head to my computer to work. The trouble is, once I get going I really get wrapped up into what I am doing and lose track of time...the night sneaks away from me. When I realize the time, I find I need a fair bit time to unwind before falling asleep...and so time keeps passing.

I go through phases of being *good* about taking care of myself in the sleep department. Then get hit by project inspiration...or inbox overload...and it all goes to pot.

This wouldn't be a problem if there were only me to worry about, and if I weren't 8 and a half months pregnant! I have an alarm clock without a snooze button (read: toddler ready to rise with the birds...3-4am the last three mornings..*yawn*), an old pup that needs to be near me and tosses and turns through the night, and a hubby that needs to get to work in the morning. Working till 1 in the morning does not lend well to the early wake-up call! Oh and I am sure you can imagine how comfortable the sleep is for a 8 and half month pregnant body in the middle of the summer...

In an effort to put into practice what I know is so important, 'self-care' Project: Bedtime begins tonight. I have decided to only commit in a week incremement...as this bambino could arrive soon and my plans won't matter at that point:)

You are all my whitnesses...For one week, starting tonight, I will be in bed ready for the sandman by 10pm at the latest every night.

Any other late night workaholics or bedtime delayers out there? Would love to know if you are joining me in the challenge!

That being said, I am stepping away from the computer ~ nigh-night!

As someone who has not yet

As someone who has not yet gone to bed tonight, I find this particularly poignant.
