Valentine's Perfection
I know this will shock some out there, but I used to really not be a fan of Valentine's Day. This soul that lights up with all thing *love*...a Valentine's Day hater...somewhat surprising. I too was one of the "you should show love everyday", "love doesn't need a specific day", "it's all too commercial" folks. But I must admit, but opinion has changed quite dramatically over the years...and now? I kinda *LOVE* it!
Just like New Years Eve prompts us to evaluate our goals and direction in life; Canada Day prompts me to celebrate and express gratitude for the amazing country I are blessed to call hOMe; baby showers afford us opportunity to celebrate the arrival of a new little being; retreats prompt us to slow down and soak up tranquility that we hope to sprinkle throughout everyday...Valentine's Day prompts us to look up and shower in LOVE our friends and family ~ to focus on spreading love and appreciation.
I am still a believer, that the day needn't fall into the "commercial traps". There are lots of ways to express love...ways that we can sprinkle throughout the year AND on Valentines Day:)
Here is a glimpse into my Valentine's Day this year...
It started with heart shaped french toast and strawberries for my loves...
batter made with mostly eggs, a spash of coconut milk and vanilla
with Chia Whole Wheat bread from Cobs topped with maple syrup....mmmmm
Then time connecting with nature with my yogini and mini yogi...
just look at them holding hands:)
A walk through the woods...

sunshine, fresh air and the lights of my life!
A surprise from my Valentine...
a homemade flower and note filled with loves and laughter
Dinner. Playtime and snuggles...
chewing a dragon...why wouldn't you?!?
Then closing the computer early, for a movie and a snuggle with my Valentine.
Not so commercial. Not so traditionally romantic. But a day filled with love. Perfect.
Hope your Valentine's Day made you feel loved, appreciated and valued...because you are...everyday!
