What a Month!
June was a crazy month! It was filled with adventure, visiting family, do-gooding, GROOVIN', yoga, road trips and more! June is always busy, but this year seemed to be even more so...as you may have guessed from my short term disappearance from this on-line community.
Just a few of the month's highlights;
- Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life - I am so grateful and honoured to have been asked to be the keynote speaker for the Fight Back Ceremony, to GROOVE the relay warm up, lead sunrise yoga, and co-ordinate the Midnight Miracle Mile! All on top of getting to spend the night fighting back with an ALL STAR team! Thank you to all that came out to make that night a HUGE success (montage to follow shortly by Little Blue Man Media! Will be sure to share it here:)
- Published article in Island Parent Magazine! Didn't manage to get a copy of the June issue? To read my 10 tips, find page 16!
- First newspaper interview with the Goldstream Gazette! As a result of that interview, I was SO excited to meet a survivor at the Relay for Life that had not heard of the event until reading the article! He decided to come out after reading it, to find community and support in HIS fight! Watch out cancer, our FIGHT back community grows stronger everyday!!!
- Road trip to Williams Lake, BC to visit my dear friend and lead a Yoga Day Retreat hosted by Concrete Fitness! What a GREAT group of new and vetran yogis!
Add in birthday parties, visiting family, a ChariTEA GROOVE Night, the on-going yoga and pilates classes, etc...and you get one happy, grateful, overjoyed, sleep deprived me!
Upon my return in the first week of July, I took some time to disconnect from the world taking some much needed time for early nights to bed, reading nourishing books, quiet lazy days with my beautiful yogini, and a camping trip! As you all know, a bank account that is overdrawn will not allow you to continue to make withdrawals...eventually you MUST make a deposit...and that has been what July has been so far!
This on-going search for balance in life got me thinking...what other ways could I explore balance? Stay tuned:)
